At 3 p.m. Phillipsburg police responded to 360 South Main St. and found a man who had been stabbed, the Warren County Prosecutor's Office said. Jermaine Davis was identified as the suspect following an investigation, police said.
Davis and the victim knew each other and a verbal altercation ensued between the two which led to the stabbing, authorities said. The victim was transported to a nearby hospital, authorities said.
Davis was arrested the next day and charged with aggravated assault and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, police said.
